What's the best lighting for your kitchen?

So what is the best type of kitchen lighting? Well, there's quite a few different options when it comes to the lighting of a kitchen, so i've gone through a few of the different options that are available.

When it comes to your kitchen, you can have:

Pendants - These can be in the centre of a kitchen or just designated for over islands and breakfast bars.

Spotlights - These are usually set into the ceiling.

Strip lights - You can have these with spotlights coming off them or a fluorescent tube if you really want to, but I don't advise that one.

Under-unit lights - When paired with sensors, they'll turn on and off accordingly.

Plinth lights - These will definitely add a little bit of edge and style into the kitchen. You can accompany these with under-worktop lighting as well or LED.

You can also get light boxes which are really quite cool.

However, when it comes to lighting, my favourite has to be spotlights as I think they make your kitchen look so clean. I prefer the spotlights be white as well so they disappear with the colour of the ceiling, which is really important to me. I also love under-unit lights, such as LED strips, because the different lighting zones are also really important for me.

This lighting is important for your kitchen, as if you just want to make a cup of tea or you're just going to get a snack in the evening, you won't have to go in and turn all the main lights on.

So that would be my favourite lighting. Lovely ambient lighting, whether that's going to be around the bottom of the worktop or under-unit lights itself.

These are the different types of lighting you can have when it comes to your kitchen.

I hope that helps answer your question on what's the best lighting for your kitchen.
